Presumably you mean the original bridge, not the new one? Fantastic piece of engineering! We would not be allowed to make anything like it now!! I particularly liked the patterns on the granite blocks.

Does anybody have (or know someone else who has) space to lay up a motorbike over the winter months? I obviously wouldn’t expect it to be free but reasonable it has to be. Alternatively, maybe I can do you a good turn in return?

Going there next weekend and would like any info on day activites and places to visit, i enjoy doing anything, hopefully the weather will be nice and we’ll be able to go to the beaches….
Any directions would be greatful from anglesey to anywhere intresting or any good websites to look at….

We used to go to Benllech a lot and it was nice there… when it didn’t rain!

You are looking for a quality Anglesey hotel for your visit to this island off the North Wales coast.

Situated in the central island town of Llangefni is the Bull Hotel, a former 17th century coaching inn, which was a key link in the transport corridor between Britain and Ireland.

Being centrally located this Anglesey hotel provides a good base for you to plan your island exploration and perhaps to go further afield.

Accredited with 3 stars from the Automobile Association (AA) and 4 starts from the Welsh Tourist Board, the Bull Hotel has aimed for high standards and in 2004 a major programme of renovation works was completed.

It is quite easy to get to the hotel, as you leave the A55 at junction 6 following signs for the town Llangefni.

You then proceed towards the town, passing the industrial estate on your right, and then you pass under a bridge, with signs for a 20 mile per hour speed limit.

When you reach the one way system, follow it all the way round until you face the Town clock and the Bull Hotel is just to your right (at 1 o’clock!).

There is ample free parking in the hotel courtyard though it is advisable to book in advance.

From your base at the Bull Hotel you can travel west and explore the Holyhead area (about 13 miles away) and the surrounding area on Holy Island, such as Holyhead Breakwater and South Stack.

And if you are adventurous and want to venture further, you can take the Dublin Ferry for a day out in the Irish capital.

The hotel which still retains that 17th century character offers 22 rooms, some of which are on the ground floor in the enclosed courtyard.

All the rooms are non-smoking and en-suite with a bath, shower, toilet and with tea and coffee making facilities and a TV.

For those of you who like to carry your laptop with you, all rooms have a modem for linking up to the Internet which is a free service.

In an attempt to maintain that historic character and feel, the furnishings and dark woods have been carefully chosen.

The Bull Hotel has a restaurant for residents along with two licensed bars. A conference facility with seating for up to 50 people is located in the courtyard.

When you arrive at the hotel may ask for pre-authorisation of credit cards, and they accept American Express, Switch, Mastercard, Diners and Visa.

During your stay in this character Anglesey hotel, you have the opportunity to visit the Oriel just outside Llangefni, on the road to Llanerchymedd.

Just ask the hotel for directions. This gallery houses some interesting art works, and there is always a visiting artist displaying their works.
